Entrevista da Luciana para o oikotimes.com, pós-vitória online

Luciana Abreu gave an exclusive interview to oikotimes.com 5 minutes after the online voting closes. She’s definitely one of the 12 artists performing next February 27 at 'Festival da Canção', the Portuguese final to the Eurovision Song Contest.

First of all, congratulations for your victory in the Portuguese semi-final. What’s your first word after winning this semi-final?
I want to thank all the fans that support my career, especially those who voted for us because this is a very important step in my life. I wish everybody like and feel our song and message.

What does Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) mean to you and why did you decide to participate?
The Eurovision Song Contest is a very important music festival, so it’s a great step in my career! It’s the chance and the honour to represent my country in a prestigious contest recognized not only in Europe but in the whole world. I decided to participate because of this, but also to tell once again that, even being a singer, a TV-hostess and also an actress with lots of work and plans, I never forget, with tenderness and humility, the chance to represent Portugal in the Eurovision.

Some people think that the Portuguese festival is “old-fashioned” and not for the taste of many teenagers. Do you have the same opinion?
I have the opposite opinion! One example: when we read oikotimes.com and others Eurovision websites we could see that more and more youngsters joins this contest and represents their countries.

Tell us about the invitation to perform in the festival.
Well, it was an idea and a partnership between Carlos Coincas and me.

How did your friends and family react when you were announced as ‘Festival da Canção’ singer?
They are very happy and honoured!

About the song you’ll present in the following festival: what can we expect from it?
It's a song that calls for strength, for courage, to victory, to peace, solidarity, and to let the dream alive… you know that I’m very perfectionist in what I do and believe for… and I believe, from the bottom of my heart, that this music will touch many people, because the music is so strong, so grab, with good wives…

Now that we know that you’re one of the finalists in the Portuguese selection, can you reveal some details about the performance on stage?
Well… lol.. This is a secret… it’s a surprise to you all!

Let’s talk about your participation in the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2005. Do you want to talk about that experience?
Yah, of course! It was a fantastic experience! It was very positive indeed, because I learned how to fear the panic of the stage and the crowd and also to find the strength I have inside of myself each single time I come on stage! Weaknesses… I can’t mention a single weak point, because the experience of a bad score it’s now included in my lifelong education and experience.

Talking now about the festivals from the past: what’s your favourite Portuguese Eurovision entry ever?
Oh so many! I remember lot’s of times “Conquistador” by Da Vinci and “Amor d’água fresca” performed by Dina.

And what about Eurovision?
I love “Angel” from Malta 2005.

Luciana Abreu in few words:
Eurovision is… magic!
This is the song of my life? Yes… it’s one of the songs of my life!
I’m fan of… my Mummy and sister
My favourite Eurovision star is… 2B! it’s a star that shines…
I can’t live without… my faith!
I feel nervous when… I’m going to perform!
I feel excited when… I’m on the stage!
I love… to live!
I hate… The envy!
The Portuguese people must vote for me… if they want to!
